Providing impactful recruitment videos

Company promotional videos to help boost the retainment of applicants accepting job offers

The Challenge

Based in Sheffield and with over 15 years of experience, Selecto Recruitment Solutions are an agency specialising in contact centre recruitment, working cohesively alongside call centre companies to recruit more employees.

Selecto Recruitment recognised the inconsistency in call centre employees completing the full job application process, with only 50% of interviewees attending the first day of their new job. To tackle this issue, we comprised the plan to produce a fast-paced and light-hearted video that would give their targeted audience a clearer representation of how the call centre operates and the environment they could join - ultimately encouraging growth in signups.

The Solution

Our first step was to develop a written treatment for the videos. As these were company overview videos, Selecto Recruitment Solutions wanted current employees to share why they enjoy working there. It was also an ideal opportunity to show the progression through the company, so we planned to interview employees at various stages of their careers at CC33 and Capita. These included new employees, those who had progressed into management positions, and long-term employees.

Before the filming on both locations began, we conducted a location scout. This enabled us to determine where we would conduct staff interviews, and to plan the type of shots we needed of the working environment. Ahead of the filming days, we created schedules for when we would be shooting in specific rooms, and when we would be conducting our interviews, so that everyone knew what to expect. Filming went smoothly, and the staff who contributed interviews were great!

To ensure the flow of the videos, B-roll footage was filmed throughout the office spaces, demonstrating the day-to-day workflows of the offices. This included staff answering calls, team meetings and team huddles. Each was to give a glimpse to potential employees of how they will be working.

Following the editing process, we produced eye-catching two-minute videos, showing off why candidates should work for CC33 or Capita. Each video had a very friendly feel and showed the positive experience of working with the companies.

The Impact

Once the finalised versions of the videos were complete, they was then released to CC33 to publish on their recruitment pages along with additional social channels. Both Selecto Recruitment and CC33 were really happy with the video, with CC33 going on to contact us directly to commission us for their own internal videos (you can check out the video case study of the annual charity night here). We have gone on to create more recruitment videos for Selecto's clients, such as Capita and First Customer Contact. Check out the testimonial below.
